What is Cybersecurity?

As a result, cybercriminals are becoming much more sophisticated in the way they target our personal data and are continuously finding new methods of attack. Be it through spyware, phishing or any other form of entry that allows them to penetrate unsuspecting victims.

 

Given our heavy reliance on technology, the risk of online security breaches has never been higher. If we are to circumvent the potential dangers of cyber attacks, Cybersecurity measures need to be increased.

There’s no sign of technology slowing down. With much of our information such as credit card details, bank accounts and Medicare numbers being stored in cloud applications like Google Drive and Dropbox – it can be much harder to manage our data security and vulnerabilities effectively.

However, on the positive side, there are many small, medium and large organisations that are making huge strides in how they manage these sophisticated cybercrimes. This includes employing full time Data Protection Officers, obtaining user consent across online data and adopting two-step authentication security measures.
